Lions Recycle for Sight

Lions Recycle for Sight is a project by Lions Clubs that collects unwanted glasses, recycles them, and redistributes them to individuals who lack access to eyewear. Lions Clubs across the UK and other European countries, including France, Germany, Greece, Spain, and Switzerland, actively participate in this initiative. Here in the UK, collected glasses are sent to the Lions Club Head Office in Birmingham from where they are sorted, and damaged ones are removed. The usable glasses are then packed and sent to those who need them in the developing world and beyond.

As District Officer for District 105SE (South East England), I work with local clubs and an and endless team of dedicated volunteers who drink all the unwanted spectacles to one place for me to then send onto Birmingham.

I am delighted to have branches of Boots, Specsavers, Independent Opticians and various other venues and outlets all supporting the cause by being drop off points for spectacles.

How can you help?

If you have or know of anyone who would like to support the sight project within the South East of England, please feel free to contact me and I will be able to advise you on the best place to drop them off.
